New Blackberry-style E-Ink phone aims to fix your scrolling addiction

Do you miss the days of BlackBerry phones with physical keyboards? Do you want to reduce your screen time and avoid the endless scrolling on social media?

If you answered yes to both questions, you might be interested in the new phone from Unihertz.

The aptly named “minimal phone”, has a candy bar design with a QWERTY keyboard and a 4.5-inch E-Ink display. E-Ink screens are typically used for e-readers, as they are easier on the eyes and consume less battery power. They also have a low refresh rate, which means they are not suitable for watching videos or playing games.

The phone runs on a custom version of Android, which has been optimized for the E-Ink screen. It supports 5G connectivity, which is rare for E-Ink devices. It also has a fingerprint scanner, a dual-SIM slot, and a microSD card slot.
